Vehicle Overview

First introduced at the 1965 London Motor Show, the DB6 MK1 was visually similar to the outgoing and very successful DB5 model. Built at the Newport Pagnell, UK factory - production of the 3,995cc, six-cylinder powered, grand tourer, continued until 1971, by which time, one thousand nine hundred and sixty-seven examples had been completed, in five variants - MK1, MK2, Volante, Vantage Volante and Shooting Brake.

Built in late 1969, DB6/4043/R with engine no 400/4173, was delivered new via Ian Anthony (Sales) Limited, Bury, Lancashire to Hugh Cussons Goodwin Esq of Hale, Cheshire on May 15th 1970, registered XTE999H, with the following specification, and extras -

DB6/4043/R chronological history:

- August 1st 1971, vehicle registration changed to DB1001

- August 1971 to July 1987 – extensive invoices on file for service and maintenance, completed by, amongst others - Aston Martin Lagonda Limited, Cyd Williams Racing, Goodwin Racing Group and Hilton Park Garage.

- Documented mileage 61,813 as at January 15th 1976

- Subsequent, extensive, documented remedial work recorded by amongst others, Aston Martin Lagonda

Bearing in mind our location, we’re very pleased to be able to offer an exceptionally original Aston Martin DB6 MK1, which has spent its entire life in the North West of England, and which presents in the colours in which it was first delivered (build sheet on file). Uniquely, the specialist motor engineer (ex-Formula Atlantic racer and BRDC member Cyd Williams) who maintained this car during its daily use by Mr Cussons Goodwin, more than forty years ago, is well known to us…..and remembers XTE999H as a well-handling, deceptively quick and distinctive Aston Martin. With documented history from new and extensive maintenance by each of its three, cherishing owners, DB6/4043/R is now immediately available. SOLD
