Vehicle Overview

The 550 Maranello was first introduced in 1996, and with a front-engined 5.4 litre V12, mated to a six speed gearbox, and a tubular steel framed chassis, clothed in light aluminium bodywork, it was obvious many collectors would see it as the modern incarnate of the legendary Daytona.

First released at the 2000 Paris Motor Show, 448 drophead versions of the 485bhp Barchetta were delivered worldwide. A true roadster, with no real convertible top provided.... Ferrari SPA did provide a soft top, but it was intended only for temporary use.

The exemplary example we offer, just one of forty two delivered new to the UK market, was supplied new by Maranello Concessionaires to Mr Yeo of London W1 on 24/11/01, superbly finished in its original colour of Grigio Titanio with complementing Bordeaux interior, the car has covered a documented eleven thousand, six hundred and twenty-nine miles from new, by its three owners.

Purchased by its current owner on 26/2/08 from Meridien Modena, it has been part of a private collection of superbly maintained cars and has covered approximately five thousand miles, whilst residing in the owner’s purpose-built, dehumidified motor-house.

Fastidiously maintained by a well known FOC Member, using only recommended lubricants and products, it is supplied with an unused car cover and a 130 mph, German-designed and produced, aftermarket roof application which is €9,800 new.

Featured in several books and magazine articles, the car attracts significant attention wherever it appears and has previously been displayed at the Ferrari Owners Club’s UK’s Whittlebury Hall Spring Ball and AGM.

H5 XBX is a much-documented and admired example of a very limited production, RHD, front engined V12 Ferrari.
